Support Our Work

The Franciscans of Holy Name Province, the largest province of the worldwide Order of Friars Minor in the United States, gratefully accept donations to support our life and work. Our community of more than 350 men are engaged in a wide variety of ministries: education, parishes, preaching and spiritual centers, ministry to the city, service to the poor and overseas missions. We need the help of committed partners to help us continue these activities.

As the young Holy Name Province was rapidly expanding in the 1920s, our Provincial Minister, Fr. Mathias Faust, OFM, realized the need to raise funds to support the friars in their many apostolates. And so, in 1924, Fr. John Forest Loviner, OFM, and over 100 committed lay volunteers organized St. Anthony's Guild to help meet those needs. In 1927, the Guild launched a quarterly magazine, The Anthonian, for the spiritual enrichment of its members.

Over the succeeding years, our friends in St. Anthony's Guild have continued to help meet the needs of the formation and education of younger friars, the care of sick and elderly friars, as well as a host of other charitable activities sponsored by the Franciscan Order.

To help support the continuing work of the friars, please make a donation through St. Anthony's Guild.

To support the missionary work of the friars, please make a donation through the Franciscan Missionary Union.
